Sacrificing the Unborn For Political Gain

He did what was evil in the sight of the Lord – 1 Kings 15:26

I would never want 1 Kings 15:26 be the sum of my life. Yet, when you read about the kings of Israel (the northern kingdom) this is how the end of their lives are recorded. Such a dark conclusion. In my opinion, what we are seeing today is something very similar. The U.S. is no longer a “Christian” nation, but for the Obama Campaign to do something this bold, is nothing more than attempting to spit in God’s face (if he could jump that high). I agree with my friend Johnny Hunt, we need a revival. See Obama campaign videos below & news article sited from Baptist Press.

The late Dr. Mildred Jefferson, the first black woman to graduate from the Harvard Medical School, once said,

“I am at once a physician, a citizen and a woman, and I am not willing to stand aside and allow this concept of expendable human lives to turn this great land of ours into just another exclusive reservation where only the perfect, the privileged and the planned have the right to live.”[i]

Well said. Dr. Jefferson. The issue of abortion is more than pro-life vs. pro-choice. It is an issue of right vs. wrong and good vs. evil. The pro-abortion (choice) agenda is described very well in the quote above. If a baby in the womb is even thought to have any health difficulty, not the right sex, or has come at an inconvenient time, he or she is in of one the most dangerous places on earth, their mother’s womb. We have become a society where abortion is so common, that one American pro-abortion leader says, “Abortion is as American as apple pie.” – Merle Hoffman[ii]

Since 1973, when the historic Roe vs. Wade court case legalized abortion in the United States, we have seen over 50 million babies murdered. Today, about 3000 babies are aborted each day. Some statistics say that 1 in 3 women will have an abortion sometime in their lifetime. In some places, mainly within major cities and targeted at minorities, the number of terminated pregnancies are higher than births. While most people are moving about their daily lives, people are being murdered right under their noses.

“If we will not defend life in the womb, eventually the dignity of every single human life is thrown over the fence.”[iii]

This quote comes from an article about a Canadian woman who strangled her newborn son and then threw the body over the fence into her neighbor’s yard. Her actions were considered by a judge, what has been called “fourth trimester abortion”, the killing of a newborn right after birth. Her charge was dropped from manslaughter to infanticide, and the only time she will spend in jail is 16 days, not for killing her son, but for throwing his body over the fence.

Have we gone mad as a society? This is evil in sight of the Lord. When did a person’s right to chose all of a sudden carry more weight than the purpose, plan, and will of Almighty God, Creator of everything? Have we totally lost our fear of God? Why do we care so much about kids being strapped properly in car seats and at the same time murder 3000 of them a day for not being born at the right time, or in the right health?[iv]

In the U.S., the organization that receives the most funding for abortion procedures is Planned Parenthood. This is the organization that is defended in the Obama campaign videos. The videos are attacking the opposition for wanting to cut funding to Planned Parenthood, claiming that women will lose the ability to get free health screenings if it happens. It’s not about the health screenings. There are other organizations and places people can go for those needs. It’s about keeping abortion accessible, main stream, and a priority. Most people do not know that Planned Parenthood has deep roots in eugenics. In case you are not familiar with that term, to say it as plainly as I can, it is the idea of stopping the multiplication of the “unfit” so that the higher “race(s)” can survive and dominate. Basically it is not far from what Hitler and Nazi Germany tried to do with the Jews and other people groups that were “unfit” in their eyes.[v]

Some, and I agree to their link, call Planned Parenthood a racist organization.[vi] Planned Parenthood has deep roots in Canada as well.[vii]

The famous Roe vs. Wade case in 1973 is where abortion rates in the U.S. began to explode. Norma McCorvey, who was “Roe” in the case now is an active speaker for the pro-life movement. Here is a quote from her.

“I was sitting in O.R.’s offices when I noticed a fetal development poster. The progression was so obvious, the eyes were so sweet. It hurt my heart, just looking at them. I ran outside and finally, it dawned on me. ‘Norma’, I said to myself, ‘They’re right’. I had worked with pregnant women for years. I had been through three pregnancies and deliveries myself. I should have known. Yet something in that poster made me lose my breath. I kept seeing the picture of that tiny, 10-week-old embryo, and I said to myself, that’s a baby! It’s as if blinders just fell off my eyes and I suddenly understood the truth — that’s a baby!

I felt crushed under the truth of this realization. I had to face up to the awful reality. Abortion wasn’t about ‘products of conception’. It wasn’t about ‘missed periods’. It was about children being killed in their mother’s wombs. All those years I was wrong. Signing that affidavit, I was wrong. Working in an abortion clinic, I was wrong. No more of this first trimester, second trimester, third trimester stuff. Abortion — at any point — was wrong. It was so clear. Painfully clear.”[viii]

So, Mr. Obama, you can produce your little videos, making a sad case that if your opponent wins then women will not receive proper healthcare, but the truth is not hard to figure out. You are not into health, but a promoter of death. The $1 billion budget you give to Planned Parenthood should be used to save lives, not end them. Planned Parenthood is rooted in an evil and a twisted evolutionary attempt to rid the “elite” of the need to care for the “unfit.” How dare you? What you are doing is “evil in sight of the Lord.” And, that’s really the only vote that matters.

Message to those who have had an abortion

While the message is clear that abortion is wrong and sin, there is great hope for you. As with any sin, and every sinner, there is the good news of the cross of Jesus. He died to take the punishment of your sin and my sin. If you will confess you sin, turn away from it, and completely and solely trust your life in His hands, asking Him to save you from the punishment of sin, He will forgive you and will save you. You can begin to enjoy a life free from the guilt of your sin, and a life with God. There is no sinner too far away to receive God’s grace and mercy that He offers to all who call upon Him to be saved (Romans 10:9-13). Having an abortion is not the unpardonable sin. All have sinned (Romans 3:23), so you are on level ground with me and everyone else. Simply and wholeheartedly trust in Jesus.

Message to Christians who hold a pro-choice view

Repent of holding to an anti-Christian, sin glorifying, God mocking view, and then, change your view. Being a Christian and standing for pro-abortion simply cannot and does not mix. It violates Scripture, God’s word. I beg you to think through this issue with Scripture.

I did find many good articles on this topic from Dr. Al Mohler’s website.[x] This is not an easy topic to discuss, but we must be clear about what is right and what is wrong. There is absolutely nothing relative about it. Lord, revive us!

  1. This is one of those discussions that we are forced to have.
We must take a side because way too much is at stake!

    1. Agreed Matt. There’s much at stake. Many say nothing, not wanting to offend, and I understand. But, to say nothing is offensive. We (followers of Jesus) must declare truth, while at the same time share the good news of Jesus.

  2. Ron,
This is a most valuable all-out cry, reaching both the evildoer & the repenting sinner.
I will keep it in view with its reference papers.
I am convinced it will yield repentance or at least educated conversations.

God willing, I will be back home tonite.

In His Forgiving the repented heart,
    Pauline

    1. Thanks for the comment Pauline. This post has been on my mind to write for about a month. God bless, and may it bear much fruit, to the glory of God and the good of all people!
